no photos for this post because i don't have what i want to post yet.
but i feel like i should at least update about my current situation. i have one more week of summer 3 before finals arrive and i'll be off for a short summer break before fall semester starts! with that said, i still have to complete a term paper that is due on thursday. we only had a week to work on this. well at least i'm half way done with it.
ingrid was here for most of the summer 3 semester and i met her almost every week. she's a cutiepie and we also met lisa!
(all the cuties omg) we also went to the batting center together for the first time. conclusion: photos taken when pitching reveals your most unglamourous faces. i already miss her.
on another note, i'm addicted to this chinese series called 盗墓笔记
(dao mu bi ji). it's all because dad started to watch the drama and all of us started to ask "are you watching a movie?" and then i was just suck into it by the plot. it's really good. i'm at the point where i'm highly obsessed with it. jeslyn yeo is actually reading chinese books. yes it's that good, and i'm on the third book already.
and my actual physical copies have yet to arrive.
ohhhhh, we have a yye 2015 going on. just saying.

summer semester has started and i'm not actually having fun. only going to school once a week for class and the rest of the week i'm just rotting at home. well, at least i'm having urges for photography and cafe hopping (channelling my inner nakajima yuto and yamada ryosuke, really).
i have tickets for takizawa kabuki, i'm planning to go to at least one event of the SEA Games. my life is filled. and i'm determined to build more worlds. i want to write.
maybe i should write short stories. or like poems (please, can you even write poems). and ... idk send them to publishing houses or stuff.

i am on semester break and this feels wonderful. i managed to slay my final research paper with good marks, and almost have full marks on my only final paper with professor trautner (a.k.a. favourite sociology professor of all time). semester break is good so far, not so much on writing my fic debts yet tho.
i am not sure if i'm ready for summer semester.

{throw back to Chinese New Year where we visited the Transformers exhibition and geeked out the whole day as a family}
last research paper of the semester is proving to be the last boss that's blocking me away from my semester break. i'm not even sure if i can make the dateline and do a decent job in writing this paper. this calls for more cramming on this research paper which i really do not have enough time.
that and i've came down with gastric flu and i literally took a final paper in a medicine-induced drowsiness. i was so out of it that i literally laughed when i saw 'takoyaki' as an option for the exam.
alright i think i should stumble back to writing this research paper using films as data source but really, i'm panicking and me not having a fever isn't helping (read: my body temperature is lower than normal, a.k.a. it's reached a new low at 35.1 degree Celsius last night and i don't even know what's happening).Labels: oh hi I'm riko, oh school, photograph, university laifu

(whoop, i need the semester to be over ASAP)
i hardly update, and i just. yeah i just need the semester to be over right about now, which is really close because i'm left with around one week plus of class and then it's finals. the thing is that i have two research paper due and i haven't even started one of them. screw finals, i only have one paper so it isn't much of a problem
so i'm trying to do up the statistics for my survey right now so i can write about my findings and analysis. not keen on doing it but i don't have a choice.
only plus point is that the next semester is summer semester which is just short and literally crash course, which is bad in a way but good in a sense that at least the pain is short. and then i'll be off to my third year of undergraduate life. oh god this is scary and i'm not ready to graduate.

it has been sometime since i've updated really.
went to natsu matsuri with laikuew and co., and we were in yukatas! it was fun being in yukata really, even if it's warm but it feels really nice when the wind comes.
fall 2014 has started and i'm officially a year 2 undergraduate! i really need to up my game and actually study. it's only the second week so i can relax a little? it'll start to escalate soon though.
on the side note i'm just trying to finish my yutoyama exchange.

and i'm back from our chalet! that was me trying to convince people that i'm not running away from home (not that there's actually a backpack with my laptop behind me so......). chalet was fun and filled with sob i have no regrets. and kinda just didnt sleep for 24hrs, which i'd probably never do again.
side note that i also went to watch K: Missing Kings with laikuew and isabel and we shall not spoil but gdi NOT OKAY. gonna see how they are gonna continue from that point on because i demand that they continue it.
and i've been back into the hsj fandom recently and just, i have a lot of feels for yutoyama rn. that and yamada's going to be in the movie "Grasshopper" and he's gonna be "Cicada" and i'm totally gungho for it rn. he is perfect for that role and i'm not even complaining. and i'm really looking forward to how he's going to pull that role off. that and i've read parts of the manga and it's spin-off and i really love it (meaning that there's not much scanlation so i'm gonna get the whole bloody series because it's worth splurging for, both the manga, the character and yamada ryosuke).

and i am done with the first half of my summer semester! that is half a semester closer to becoming a year 2. and so i'm done with biopsychology's finals and we can only hope that i can pass this module so i wouldnt have to take it again. the only reason why i wore a dress for paper today was to increase my mood for the paper (just so i wouldnt be depressed). riko's logic for examination.
anyway what's over is over.
on the side note, pretty happy with fandom right now. can't believe i'm back on the roll in Hey! Say! JUMP fandom, and i'm loving them even more right now i wanna cry. basically started with having yutoyama fic exchange feels, since i participated and am one of the moderators. and then we had fic feels. and i managed to pull laikuew into fandom with fics and spammed her. no regrets. had a really fun time doing this tho, and i am going back into writing. look at how rusty my writing skills are right now.
on the side note, we all have pacific rim/AU feels now and i cannot.
CHALET ON FRIDAY AND I CANNOT WAIT TO SPEND CRAZY TIME TO MARATHON SHOWS WITH AWESOME PEOPLE I LOVE FROM UNIVERSITY. and then go and watch K: Missing Kings on Saturday.

had the first practice for the cca recruitment performance and it was pretty good so far? gonna sing and dance to kyoukai no kanata's yakusoku no kizuna, so idoru poi. then again me wearing smth like this and practising dance and singing felt so idoru poi i wanted to t e a r.
and i should be reminded to stretch during friday's practice because i might be feeling some sore areas now, doesnt help that i'm running a flu.
on the side note, tyvm to takachin for baiting me fully to get a 3DS XL and my own copy of tomodachi life because i had a good laugh before class today at her islanders. gonna try convincing my dad to get it for me or smth.

this is a late post, but i went to the cvss girl guides alumni bbq on saturday. kind of funny since i was the only one in my batch to be able to attend, while even the batch before me have three that came (bijiao, amanda and jinting). and so for a day i was in the 95-liners' batch (they adopted me into their batch, and shuhui was pretty mindfucked when i said i am 19 this year and went all "ehh how? i am 19 this year!" /sobs so cute/). really glad to have gone there to catch up with seniors, juniors and teachers. it's just really nice. what's not nice would be my current shoulder ache due to carrying stuffs for the bbq.
well, because of a very packed weekend tho, i'm regretting my life choices since i have a ton of stuffs due tomorrow and not done yet. reluctant to do them but i have no choice.

and so summer semester has started. had the first lesson of biopsychology, and it isnt that bad (yet). i do think our professor is pretty anal about some stuffs but i really like how he lectures and he makes stuffs really easy to be understood (tho i really need to catch up with scientific terms). there is a need to stop slacking and start reading up on the textbook as well since i do believe it's going to be gone through really quickly. and bless, there isnt any group work for this module and i love it. no group work = not raging at group mates.

and this is the few times i bother to bring my camera out to snap photos. i would think i'm more of a photographer than a model (imo, i look better in selca, compared to me being awkward and standing there to pose).
i'm pretty glad to have met yanhan and stephanie today. my spring break is coming to an end, and since classes are starting on this coming tuesday. had lunch together and went around walking orchard. we caught up on tons of stuffs, and i'm pretty sure they are one of the few people that i can open up totally, face-to-face. it's not like i'm unfriendly, but both of them know me even tho we've only became friends during our time in JC. just ... really thankful for them to always calling me out (because they know i would be holed up at home if no one suggest about going out), and always being there even though i'm a very irritable person (not the friendliest person on earth, yeah?). tho we have different interests, i do think that we are pretty close.
thank you both of being here with me okay? like, both of you can actually stand me roaming around kinokuniya for japanese mangas/magazines and/or books for so long.
on the side note, as i said i bothered to connect my camera to the laptop, i found photos of my trip to taiwan from last year and also the family trip to the S.E.A aquarium.
putting this one here because this particular photo was taken after my first experience of an earthquake. that being said, this was actually the epicentre of the earthquake that was around 6 on the scale? i cant really remember it properly but it was pretty bad. we saw landslide as well, and being a geography student, i was pretty excited about it (even tho it's a natural disaster). excited because we cant experience stuff like this in Singapore and i'm seeing it first-hand after reading about them for years in textbooks and lecture notes.
oh yes, this was from the time i went to the S.E.A aquarium with my family. it's pretty and since dad was a marine life enthusiast, i pretty much clung to him and ask him tons of question while we slowly walked through the aquarium (my mum and brother were as keen to squeeze through the crowd tho). i really like the lightings for the different aquariums and how they set the coral reefs. they came our spectacular in the photographs (or at least most of them). and this trip has reminded me that i love to take microscopic-ish stuffs so i probably should invest in a new lens that focuses on ... well, tiny and near objects.
and so this is probably the most photos i have in my posts for a long time!
i should bring my camera out more often now and just snap away. true that my phone has a camera but getting my photos from phone to the laptop is more of a pain compared to transferring my photos from my camera to the laptop. so yes.
maybe i should even bring my camera to class so to take photos because i can.

decided to change my blog layout and there, i've pretty much spent my entire afternoon in customising it and a little more time to figure out how to loop my auto play. all these are pretty much done while i listen to "welcome to night vale". the podcast is enchanting. alright i have no idea how to explain how it is really good and i'm definitely looking forward to the novel when it comes out.
here's what 'welcome to night vale' is about (in pretty much my own words and wikipedia's information):
welcome to night vale is a podcast presented as a radio show for the fictional town of night vale. the narrator and also the main character in this podcast is cecil gershwin palmer. it consists of "news, announcements and advertisements" from the desert town.
according to joseph fink in an interview, he "came up with this idea of a town in that deserrt where all conspiracy theories were real".
it is really interesting so everyone should just give it a go. i've never been a fan of podcasts since i do prefer to read than just listen, but this is pretty different i guess? i would say the setting is pretty amusing and the soundtrack enhances the podcast.
i'm just thinking if i should make this blog more focused instead of just me trying to update about my life (of course i would still do that but it would end up with things that are related to animangas). maybe i should write short stories here. it's just a thought for now, but it'll just grow from there i guess.
on the side note, spring break is ending and the summer semester starts next week. not exactly looking forward to going back for classes but it beats me lazing around at home. the one thing i dont look forward to would be projects and ... the fact that i would have to crash course my modules for two sets of six weeks.

have been spending my well earned break ... wisely i guess? going out with friends and having a large part of time dedicated to just lazing around being a hikki (not that there's much time left before my summer semester starts). have been out with the darling for a few times already during this break and i enjoy her company truly. i need to hang out more with the halmunnie soon, but she has work :(
on a side note, it would be the last day of me having very light brown hair! changing hair colours tomorrow morning with the help of mum. well, there is a need to spur myself for the next semester so yes i am using the change of hair colour to encourage myself. there is also the stash of mangas and tons of animes waiting for me so yes, i will survive the intensive summer semester, pass it and GO TO YEAR TWO OF AN UNDERGRADUATE asdfghjkl. this basically means more papers to write and more research to do.
should just enjoy my break thoroughly.

not sure what to blog about. i've not been doing really good in articulating what happened in a day or what am i feeling like ... after i entered secondary three (basically at the end of 2008). shall do some self reflection instead of revising for my last paper. well hey, it's not finals week if you dont procrastinate.

highly relevant time card because ... F I N A L S W E E K.
so i have three papers done in two days. psychology statistics and criminology on the same day, while classical sociological theories is on another like at least a week and a half after my first two papers (don't even ask). and so here i am trying to finish all my revision. well technically i am ready to just go for the paper since i do remember stuffs taught in criminology (yes i have almost photography memory for things i am interested in tyvm). but i still need to practice my statistics.

(fyi: i dont smoke, i dont like people smoking irl but 2d characters that smoke are hot. dont ask me about my logic)
yeap work has been piling up. our test and presentations are already starting and i can't believe that i've started classes for four weeks already. like woah, a month already?
procrastination has always been something i do, and this hasnt changed yet (it ought to change tho). trying my best to just finish stuffs early, and i'm successful for some ... and not so successful for some. it doesn't really help really.
on a lighter note that's not about studying, i sang in front of an actual audience just recently (on tuesday?) and yeap terrifically nerve-wreaking. my stomach was literally dying after that because i was shivering a hell lot while singing. doesn't really help that i forgot a lot of lyrics, but i'm just gonna factor that to the fact that i was pretty much bullied up to sing (by the judges i know and friends).
that said tho, it's a pretty nice experience. wouldn't mind trying to perform in front of a crowd again even tho it terrifies me. we'll see.
CAN I SAY THAT I AM ON A MANGA-BUYING BAN RIGHT NOW?
self-imposed ban because i should save up my money since i'm gunning for that aoba nendriod and the very ghey figure of kawoshin. pretty much those two figures. i would just stop buying everything now (well, most of the stuffs i ordered already are released in March) and hopefully i can last until i pay for the figures (well it's not out yet thank goodness).

second semester

i am sob. first year second semester of university and i'm not really sure what am i suppose to do already. alright maybe not, it's just me feeling pretty much relaxed from the holiday and the workload is increasing, slowly but steadily. i am totally not ready for this. shouldn't even be on the laptop in the first place, but yes i am here just because i'm suppose to write an essay but i have no idea what to write /le sobs/.
on the side note, i'm in love with JUMP (again). their new single is really precious and i'm enjoying every bit of it. it's been a long time since i felt like that since last year. but with no doubt, i'm still much more into animanga than idols. i'm getting mangas instead of my usual idol magazines okay. my magazine shelf is pretty amazing in my opinion tbh (filled with seventeen, myojo, potato, wink up and duet).
there seriously isn't much that i can blog i guess, haven't been blogging much. i should just turn this blog into a anime review blog or smth.

and i've been back into the hsj fandom recently and just, i have a lot of feels for yutoyama rn. that and yamada's going to be in the movie "Grasshopper" and he's gonna be "Cicada" and i'm totally gungho for it rn. he is perfect for that role and i'm not even complaining. and i'm really looking forward to how he's going to pull that role off. that and i've read parts of the manga and it's spin-off and i really love it (meaning that there's not much scanlation so i'm gonna get the whole bloody series because it's worth splurging for, both the manga, the character and yamada ryosuke).

and i am done with the first half of my summer semester! that is half a semester closer to becoming a year 2. and so i'm done with biopsychology's finals and we can only hope that i can pass this module so i wouldnt have to take it again. the only reason why i wore a dress for paper today was to increase my mood for the paper (just so i wouldnt be depressed). riko's logic for examination.
anyway what's over is over.
on the side note, pretty happy with fandom right now. can't believe i'm back on the roll in Hey! Say! JUMP fandom, and i'm loving them even more right now i wanna cry. basically started with having yutoyama fic exchange feels, since i participated and am one of the moderators. and then we had fic feels. and i managed to pull laikuew into fandom with fics and spammed her. no regrets. had a really fun time doing this tho, and i am going back into writing. look at how rusty my writing skills are right now.
on the side note, we all have pacific rim/AU feels now and i cannot.

had the first practice for the cca recruitment performance and it was pretty good so far? gonna sing and dance to kyoukai no kanata's yakusoku no kizuna, so idoru poi. then again me wearing smth like this and practising dance and singing felt so idoru poi i wanted to t e a r.
and i should be reminded to stretch during friday's practice because i might be feeling some sore areas now, doesnt help that i'm running a flu.
on the side note, tyvm to takachin for baiting me fully to get a 3DS XL and my own copy of tomodachi life because i had a good laugh before class today at her islanders. gonna try convincing my dad to get it for me or smth.

this is a late post, but i went to the cvss girl guides alumni bbq on saturday. kind of funny since i was the only one in my batch to be able to attend, while even the batch before me have three that came (bijiao, amanda and jinting). and so for a day i was in the 95-liners' batch (they adopted me into their batch, and shuhui was pretty mindfucked when i said i am 19 this year and went all "ehh how? i am 19 this year!" /sobs so cute/). really glad to have gone there to catch up with seniors, juniors and teachers. it's just really nice. what's not nice would be my current shoulder ache due to carrying stuffs for the bbq.
well, because of a very packed weekend tho, i'm regretting my life choices since i have a ton of stuffs due tomorrow and not done yet. reluctant to do them but i have no choice.

first day of summer semester

and so summer semester has started. had the first lesson of biopsychology, and it isnt that bad (yet). i do think our professor is pretty anal about some stuffs but i really like how he lectures and he makes stuffs really easy to be understood (tho i really need to catch up with scientific terms). there is a need to stop slacking and start reading up on the textbook as well since i do believe it's going to be gone through really quickly. and bless, there isnt any group work for this module and i love it. no group work = not raging at group mates.

and this is the few times i bother to bring my camera out to snap photos. i would think i'm more of a photographer than a model (imo, i look better in selca, compared to me being awkward and standing there to pose).
i'm pretty glad to have met yanhan and stephanie today. my spring break is coming to an end, and since classes are starting on this coming tuesday. had lunch together and went around walking orchard. we caught up on tons of stuffs, and i'm pretty sure they are one of the few people that i can open up totally, face-to-face. it's not like i'm unfriendly, but both of them know me even tho we've only became friends during our time in JC. just ... really thankful for them to always calling me out (because they know i would be holed up at home if no one suggest about going out), and always being there even though i'm a very irritable person (not the friendliest person on earth, yeah?). tho we have different interests, i do think that we are pretty close.
thank you both of being here with me okay? like, both of you can actually stand me roaming around kinokuniya for japanese mangas/magazines and/or books for so long.
on the side note, as i said i bothered to connect my camera to the laptop, i found photos of my trip to taiwan from last year and also the family trip to the S.E.A aquarium.
putting this one here because this particular photo was taken after my first experience of an earthquake. that being said, this was actually the epicentre of the earthquake that was around 6 on the scale? i cant really remember it properly but it was pretty bad. we saw landslide as well, and being a geography student, i was pretty excited about it (even tho it's a natural disaster). excited because we cant experience stuff like this in Singapore and i'm seeing it first-hand after reading about them for years in textbooks and lecture notes.
oh yes, this was from the time i went to the S.E.A aquarium with my family. it's pretty and since dad was a marine life enthusiast, i pretty much clung to him and ask him tons of question while we slowly walked through the aquarium (my mum and brother were as keen to squeeze through the crowd tho). i really like the lightings for the different aquariums and how they set the coral reefs. they came our spectacular in the photographs (or at least most of them). and this trip has reminded me that i love to take microscopic-ish stuffs so i probably should invest in a new lens that focuses on ... well, tiny and near objects.
and so this is probably the most photos i have in my posts for a long time!
i should bring my camera out more often now and just snap away. true that my phone has a camera but getting my photos from phone to the laptop is more of a pain compared to transferring my photos from my camera to the laptop. so yes.
maybe i should even bring my camera to class so to take photos because i can.

a new theme

decided to change my blog layout and there, i've pretty much spent my entire afternoon in customising it and a little more time to figure out how to loop my auto play. all these are pretty much done while i listen to "welcome to night vale". the podcast is enchanting. alright i have no idea how to explain how it is really good and i'm definitely looking forward to the novel when it comes out.
here's what 'welcome to night vale' is about (in pretty much my own words and wikipedia's information):
welcome to night vale is a podcast presented as a radio show for the fictional town of night vale. the narrator and also the main character in this podcast is cecil gershwin palmer. it consists of "news, announcements and advertisements" from the desert town.
according to joseph fink in an interview, he "came up with this idea of a town in that deserrt where all conspiracy theories were real".
it is really interesting so everyone should just give it a go. i've never been a fan of podcasts since i do prefer to read than just listen, but this is pretty different i guess? i would say the setting is pretty amusing and the soundtrack enhances the podcast.
i'm just thinking if i should make this blog more focused instead of just me trying to update about my life (of course i would still do that but it would end up with things that are related to animangas). maybe i should write short stories here. it's just a thought for now, but it'll just grow from there i guess.
on the side note, spring break is ending and the summer semester starts next week. not exactly looking forward to going back for classes but it beats me lazing around at home. the one thing i dont look forward to would be projects and ... the fact that i would have to crash course my modules for two sets of six weeks.

spring break

have been spending my well earned break ... wisely i guess? going out with friends and having a large part of time dedicated to just lazing around being a hikki (not that there's much time left before my summer semester starts). have been out with the darling for a few times already during this break and i enjoy her company truly. i need to hang out more with the halmunnie soon, but she has work :(
on a side note, it would be the last day of me having very light brown hair! changing hair colours tomorrow morning with the help of mum. well, there is a need to spur myself for the next semester so yes i am using the change of hair colour to encourage myself. there is also the stash of mangas and tons of animes waiting for me so yes, i will survive the intensive summer semester, pass it and GO TO YEAR TWO OF AN UNDERGRADUATE asdfghjkl. this basically means more papers to write and more research to do.
should just enjoy my break thoroughly.

and so i have completed two of my papers, one more left.
not sure what to blog about. i've not been doing really good in articulating what happened in a day or what am i feeling like ... after i entered secondary three (basically at the end of 2008). shall do some self reflection instead of revising for my last paper. well hey, it's not finals week if you dont procrastinate.

highly relevant time card because ... F I N A L S W E E K.
so i have three papers done in two days. psychology statistics and criminology on the same day, while classical sociological theories is on another like at least a week and a half after my first two papers (don't even ask). and so here i am trying to finish all my revision. well technically i am ready to just go for the paper since i do remember stuffs taught in criminology (yes i have almost photography memory for things i am interested in tyvm). but i still need to practice my statistics.

(fyi: i dont smoke, i dont like people smoking irl but 2d characters that smoke are hot. dont ask me about my logic)
yeap work has been piling up. our test and presentations are already starting and i can't believe that i've started classes for four weeks already. like woah, a month already?
procrastination has always been something i do, and this hasnt changed yet (it ought to change tho). trying my best to just finish stuffs early, and i'm successful for some ... and not so successful for some. it doesn't really help really.
on a lighter note that's not about studying, i sang in front of an actual audience just recently (on tuesday?) and yeap terrifically nerve-wreaking. my stomach was literally dying after that because i was shivering a hell lot while singing. doesn't really help that i forgot a lot of lyrics, but i'm just gonna factor that to the fact that i was pretty much bullied up to sing (by the judges i know and friends).
that said tho, it's a pretty nice experience. wouldn't mind trying to perform in front of a crowd again even tho it terrifies me. we'll see.
CAN I SAY THAT I AM ON A MANGA-BUYING BAN RIGHT NOW?
self-imposed ban because i should save up my money since i'm gunning for that aoba nendriod and the very ghey figure of kawoshin. pretty much those two figures. i would just stop buying everything now (well, most of the stuffs i ordered already are released in March) and hopefully i can last until i pay for the figures (well it's not out yet thank goodness).

second semester

i am sob. first year second semester of university and i'm not really sure what am i suppose to do already. alright maybe not, it's just me feeling pretty much relaxed from the holiday and the workload is increasing, slowly but steadily. i am totally not ready for this. shouldn't even be on the laptop in the first place, but yes i am here just because i'm suppose to write an essay but i have no idea what to write /le sobs/.
on the side note, i'm in love with JUMP (again). their new single is really precious and i'm enjoying every bit of it. it's been a long time since i felt like that since last year. but with no doubt, i'm still much more into animanga than idols. i'm getting mangas instead of my usual idol magazines okay. my magazine shelf is pretty amazing in my opinion tbh (filled with seventeen, myojo, potato, wink up and duet).
there seriously isn't much that i can blog i guess, haven't been blogging much. i should just turn this blog into a anime review blog or smth.
